Temasek Polytechnic Student! 22 Nov!

First week of school finished!

Saturday, October 25, 2008 @ 5:03 PM

Ahh. Hectic week, but im glad to see my friends in the Polytechnic again. :D

Anyway, Monday wasn't that bad, glad to see almost everyone coming in with a tired face. :P Timetables have also changed, so we're stuck from 9 - 6 on Mondays and Tuesdays... and the afternoon break is a time where we can chat and talk about stuff. :X

Oh yes, OOGP IS FUN YOU KNOW! :P

Psychology was also interesting, and Went home super tired that day!

Tuesday we had GMAPS and OOGP as our main focus, and for GMAPS our teacher was friendly but boring :( so i did alot of whacky stuff at the back of the class so :X OOGP was also another fun lesson, with Wee Yen getting asked to attend the MIT course for our class. I think he puts more pressure on me and dickson in class when he's sitting beside me, LOL!

Wednesday was a short day, but we still hung around school until 6+, i think. :P Oh and, my handphone died on this day :( so i took out the reserve we had at home, another W910i. HAIZ. :X

..and i went for lunch with dickson, jm and rayna today! :D

Thursday was just introduction day for CMSY, but before that we had a OOGP lecture.. and Yong Yi took a taxi just because he was scared of being late for Jonathan Chee's lecture, but guess what, IT WASNT JONATHAN CHEE TEACHING THE LECTURE THAT DAY! :X Sad case. xD

Friday was a bit more relaxed, i met Simin on the bus and went to school on 27 together :D We're both late by 4 mins wor. HEE HEE. xD

Jaslyn was in my class, but we didn't talk much :S so anyway, had lunch with jonathan, dickson, yicong, jerven, qiyang, damien, jiamin, jurene, rosanne and 2 of jm's friends for lunch! :D Big group. =P

All in all, i think it was a good warm up this week, and hope next week will be better! :D

First day of school!!

Monday, October 20, 2008 @ 10:40 PM

Omg, im getting very nervous.

But im prepared to work hard! I'm going to get at least a GPA of 3 this semester!

Once again, this "Mindset of a winner" info below makes me think further, and makes me more focused! :D

---

There are winners in this world; and there are losers.

That is a fact. What makes a winner? What makes a loser? The difference lies in attitudes, outlooks, mindsets. Usually, sooner or later, you will hear the loser blaming his failures on other people or external circumstances. The mindset that blames other people or outside circumstances for its failures is a mindset programmed to lose.

Why? Because it is a fatalistic mindset, a mindset that views its fate as beyond its control, at the mercy of others or outside circumstances. It is a mindset that has given up on its own powers and abilities. Winning requires hard work, perseverance and belief in oneself. It requires character. The winner won't admit defeat. There is some self-pride involved. And some courage involved. He knows that he cannot admit defeat, that not giving up, not quitting, is a very important moral issue. That it is essential, for his own sake, that he not do it. So he stubbornly persists. He believes that all things will yield to his will with sufficient effort and persistence. The mindset of the winner is to take responsibility for his actions, to blame himself and only himself for his failures, to believe that his destiny lies entirely within himself, rejecting any thought that his destiny is at the mercy of others or outside circumstances.

And it is this mindset that is one that is programmed to win.
